Art or Terrorism?

The Refinery Project is a short documentary about an art exhibit of mine, a series of photographs that landed me on the wrong side of the Patriot Act and, a few times, almost behind bars. The exhibit explores varying concepts of beauty specifically through landscape portraits of women photographed at or near the former Shell oil refinery in South Roxana, Illinois. The local police and ConocoPhillips were not in favor of me (or anyone) taking pictures near the refinery, even from public property. For more about this strange controversy, take a look at the documentary produced by Ashley Seering and Cory Byers.
